Are you new to Feng Shui? Just beginning to hear about it and realize it makes sense? Or perhaps someone has mentioned it to you and you’d like to hear more but find the books confusing and contradictory. There are many methods and paths to the use of Feng Shui but the bottom line is, it works.

Let’s take an easy lesson to learn to use some important areas of The Bagua, one of the primary methods being practiced today. You yourself can make some changes and see for yourself what changes will occur. And they will occur, if you use them with mindful intentions. Feng Shui is an intangible; we are working with energy and while that’s impossible to see, you can feel it. So let’s begin:

Get a Bagua. This is simply a life station of all the areas of your life. From this map we can address health, wealth, relationships, careers and so much more. Learning to use the Bagua sounds more confusing then it actually is. You view the Bagua as a transparency and it becomes a layover of our spaces. In that way you can place it over your entire property, your home or each individual room in your home. Stand at your front door, the entrance to your home known in Feng Shui as The Mouth of Chi where all the good energy enters. Hold the bagua in front of you, at your stomach and you can see the back left hand corner is your Wealth area. The back Right hand corner is relationships. See the center of your home? That’s the area to concentrate on if you’re experiencing any health issues. And so on as you move your way around.

So, what exactly can you do today to attract more money into your life? Go to your wealth area of your home and add something moving with your intention being that you want to get your wealth moving IN. Add a green plant for life force and a purple ribbon as that is the accent color of money. Intention behind any change your are making is primarily what will attract what you are seeking back to you so keep your intentions clear while you are making changes.

One thing about moving objects: we use them to active an area. Water fountains, wind chimes, even a pinwheel moves but when the area does start to move (in this case the money starts to come in) you don’t want to keep it moving or it will move back out again. Take the moving object and bring it to another area you would like to kick start in your life. And take something heavy, a paperweight, a rock and intentionally weigh that area down. Now that we have it where we want it, we want to keep it that way.

How’s your career? Are you looking for a new one or looking to move up in your current position. We enhance our career area from the inside of your home right above the front door. Put up your current business card and above that, another card with your name and what position you desire. Frame it with a simple piece of black construction paper as the color of black enhances this area. Of course you again need to keep your intentions clear, actually envisioning the new job or advancement.

Another area worth addressing is what we call Helpful People. These people can help you in almost any area of your life. Oftentimes their presence in your life can set off what I call Feng Shui Synchronicity. It starts things moving so other areas can take off and true transformations take place. A simple method to grace our already helpful people and to attract new ones is to add something they have given you, some small object or even a business card. I usually suggest a shelf for this. Think of the people in your life that you know you can count on, beyond a shadow of a doubt. When you honor these people, you will attract more. These are the very people who will think of you when they hear of a new job opening you might like or even someone they might like you to meet if you are single.

If your intentions are in the right place and you make these simple changes, you will get change. Although many people are afraid of change, it’s just one of those things you can count on for sure. Why not help make sure that you’re making changes for the better?
